We had a beautiful day here today. The sun was shining and there was just enough breeze to feel alive and energized! It was a beautiful setting for the weekend crop. The view from the balcony was peaceful and I met a lot of great and wonderful ladies who definitely made the day a lot brighter. Despite some setbacks on the technical front due to computer hicccups we managed to get through it and had fun in the process. We touched on designing with the basic shapes found in the George cartridge and how much you can create with it. I wanted them to see all the hidden possibilities that were there. I also wanted to show them how vinyl works with the Cricut and just how easy it is to use. It was supposed to just give them tidbits of information to see where everyone's interests lay. I hope that I was able to let them see things in a different way and that they walked away and learned something from it all (even if it was just a little something) All in all I would say that it was a good afternoon spent with great company.
I look forward to having more fun in the future when we can create and finish entire projects in classes to come.
There will be a weekend crop hosted by our local Scrapbook store Memories from the Heart and it sounds like it should bring some good times. I am going to demo the Cricut design studio and Sure Cuts A Lot. I am preparing some fun projects that I can't wait to share with all there (and of course I will be posting some pics. here as well) on that note I have to keep on cutting and creating so I will tap to you all later and maybe I'll see you at the crop.
Well thought I would post something since several days have gone by. Today I am "cleaning" and creating with my Cricut which could be a contradiction because when I am creating I also tend to spread my stuff all out and around. :) yup yup royal mess! I am working on adding more examples of my work in my portfolio. I am going to stop by a cropping retreat this weekend and hopefully share some stuff with all that is attending. It should be fun!
I am in love with SCAL and to all who are not familiar with it that's Sure Cuts A Lot by craft edge. Just amazing what possibilities this program opens up when used with the Cricut. I have been using it for I guess a little over a year now and it still continues to amaze me everytime. I will be posting some of the projects I have created and some cut files that I have made here in the future so keep checking back....I just heard the "ding" from the washing machine so I guess I better get going and do some more laundry it's either that or we will all have to buy new underwear soon. :0
